ACF Student Chef of the Year Competitors

The regional American Culinary Federation Student Chef of the Year winners have been crowned. These young chef professionals will compete against one another at the 2011 ACF National Convention in Dallas, July 22-26. 

Custom Culinary, Inc., proud sponsor of the ACF Student Chef of the Year competition would like to congratulate the four regional winners:

Western Region: 

Ghil Medina, services journeyman/senior airman in the U.S. Air Force is also an Armed Forces chef who received the 2011 Armed Forces Junior Chef of the Year award. He is in school for an associate degree in hotel, restaurant, fitness, and lodging management. Medina is a member of the Old Dominion ACF Chapter.

 

 

Central Region: 

Aaron Guajardo III will graduate with an associate degree in applied science from Joliet Junior College. He works as a lab assistant, member of the school’s culinary competition team and plans to work toward the ACF certified sous chef designation. Guajardo is a member of the ACF Louis Joliet Chapter.

 

 

Northeast Region: 

Caitlin Sive will receive her associate degree in culinary arts from Schenectady County Community College and is on the school’s hot-food team. Sive plans to attend the State University of New York at Delhi to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business management, focusing on hospitality management, as well as the ACF certified sous chef designation. Sive is a member of the ACF Capital District-Central New York.

 

 

Southeast Region: 

Image - ACF Keith SchwockKeith Schwock, a line cook at Cherokee Town & Country Club in Atlanta recently graduated from Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College in Ashevillle, N.C. with an associate degree in culinary technology. He was also a member of the school’s award-winning hot-food team. Schwock is a member of the ACF Greater Atlanta Chapter.
