Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 3/4 cup onions, medium diced
- 1 cup flour, all-purpose
- 1 3/4 qts water
- 2 oz Custom Culinary® Gold Label Chicken Base, No MSG Added
- 1 1/2 qts broccoli, frozen, cut
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1/8 tsp red pepper, ground
- 1 cup cream, half and half
- 1/2 tsp onion powder

Preparation Instructions
- In a 6 qt. saucepan over medium high heat, melt butter. Add onions, saute 3-5 minutes.
- Blend in flour. Cook over medium heat 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Add water, Gold Label Chicken Base, broccoli, lemon juice and red pepper, stirring constantly. Heat to boiling over medium high heat, stirring frequently. Reduce heat and gently boil for 7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add cream and onion powder, mixing well. Heat to boiling over medium high heat, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and gently boil for 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
