Ingredients

1/4 cup Canola oil
1 1/2 cups Onions, yellow, fresh, fine diced
1 1/4 gal Water, hot
1/4 cup Custom Culinary® Gold Label Low Sodium Chicken Base
1 Tbsp Custom Culinary® Gold Label Ham Base
2 qts 2% Milk
2 3/4 qts Potatoes, multi-purpose, large diced
1/2 pouch Whisk & Serve® Instant Cream Soup & Sauce Starter
dash White pepper, ground

Directions

  1. In a soup kettle over medium high, heat oil. Add onions and sweat 2-4 minutes.
  2. Add water, low sodium chicken base, ham base, milk and potatoes. Bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer 6-8 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Purée soup, using a hand immersion-style blender.
  4. Reduce heat. Slowly add Whisk & Serve® Instant Cream Soup and Sauce mix, stirring briskly with a wire whisk until smooth. Gently boil approximately 2-4 minutes. Season with ground white pepper.
