Soup Is On?

79% of consumers love a hot bowl of soup, and in the middle of holiday festivities, there’s nothing that ushers in a simpler, more comforting meal. Keeping it familiar, authentic and flavorful is the best bet, as guests look for easy decisions and favorite choices. We’ve got a whole list of beloved recipes that we’ve turned to again and again for our own families, and rounded up a few for you. And, as you would expect, our bases are in each one, offering the from-scratch true flavor that you want your guests to experience. It’s the fastest way to the best cup of soup. Even more, our bases are versatile enough to be customized or elevated with the simple addition of seasonal veggies, hearty proteins, bright toppings, and fresh garnishes.

If you want to keep it traditional, as we’d recommend, we’d suggest a New England Clam Chowder that is equal parts delicious and easy, especially if you start with our Cream Soup & Sauce Starter. This versatile product can also serve as a base for a Lobster Bisque. If you want to feature a filling, trendy option with a health halo, we’d suggest a bowl of Hearty Chicken Soup with Ancient Grains. Or keep it simple with the classic Bistro-Style Chicken Noodle Soup. Easily customized and full of feel-good flavors that we seek this time of year.

If you are looking to experiment with new flavors, soup offers a familiar base to introduce spices, cuisines, and styles. Add some spice with our Ancho Flavor Concentrate in this seasonal Ancho Pumpkin Soup. Or bring popular Thai flavors to the soup menu with Thai Style Chicken Vegetable and Rice Soup, which features our Thai Style Vegetable Broth, and features fresh red chiles, shiitake mushrooms and lemongrass seasoned jasmine rice. Tortilla Soup is already a consumer favorite and featured on many menus this time of year. Plus, it is the perfect recipe for a build-your-own soup platform that can serve the masses. We usually offer cubes of avocado, crunchy tortilla strips, pulled pork or chicken, freshly sliced jalapenos, sour cream, and grated sharp cheddar. Try adding some spice, perhaps serrano, Szechuan, or habanero peppers as another choice. After all, 90% of U.S. consumers say they enjoy spicy foods. Soup offers a calming base to balance the heat, while offering warmth for a chilly day.

Enjoy the season and be true to the food, friends. Cheers!
