What To Do With All That Turkey

We’ll keep this week’s post short and sweet. We’re guessing you have plenty to do and less time than ever to get it done. But no worries, we’re in the same boat. Pie doughs, check. Wine, check. Turkey, check, check. Or will you skip it all and make reservations instead? After all, you may need a minute from the kitchen. We get it.


But, if you’re like most of us, you may find yourself with some leftover turkey. When you’re ready to repurpose for your clan, may we suggest a few ideas? For me, I usually whip up a big batch of eggs and lead into Black Friday with breakfast tacos. Turkey can easily play a starring role as it does in this burrito recipe. Our Master’s Touch® Southwest Flavor Concentrate is truly the secret ingredient, but I’ve been known to swap in Harissa or Peri Peri.

Here’s a wild spin: make a Turkey Ragout. Leeks, Garlic, Butter, Cream, and our famous Gold Label Turkey Base may be on hand. Add some Artichoke Hearts and delight all those around. How does a Ratatouille sound? Using the same Turkey Base and loaded up with tons of veggies and diced Turkey, this could be disguised as a healthy start to post-holiday resolutions. The recipe leans into Asian flavors, but it can really be made all your own. Sounds like a worthy reward after participating in Shop Small Saturday, yes?

Of course, you could stick with the classic go-tos in the days that follow Thanksgiving. This Panini Sandwich is made extra fancy with Custom Culinary® Gold Label Bacon Onion Marmalade. Pears, arugula, and aged cheese make it even more delightful. Believe me on this one. Another go-to is a turkey chili. It quickly uses up the leftovers and can be made any style depending on the spices and peppers you choose. Serve with your favorite fresh toppings or consider it as a warm and unexpected add to a baked potato bar.
