Chili Con Carne

What You'll Need

Amount Ingredients
3 lbs. Ground Beef
2 cups Onions, Finely Chopped
1/2 cup Flour, All-Purpose
2 Tbsp. Chili Powder
1 qt. and 1 cup Water
1/3 cup Custom Culinary® Gold Label Beef Base
1 qt. Kidney Beans, Red, Canned, Drained, Rinsed
3 cups Tomatoes, Canned, Crushed in Purée
1 Tbsp. - to taste Sugar (Optional)
PREPARATION

  1. In a 2 gallon cook pot over medium high heat, cook ground beef and onion until beef is browned and onions are translucent, approx. 10-15 minutes.
  2. Add flour and chili powder, blend thoroughly. Cook 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. Add water, Gold Label Beef Base, beans and tomatoes, mix well. Heat to boiling, reduce heat and gently simmer 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
