Hawaiian Islands Crab Chowder

What You'll Need

Amount Ingredients
1/2 cup Butter, Lightly Salted
3 cups Green Peppers, Medium Diced
2 cups Leeks, Thin Sliced
1-1/2 cups Red Bell Peppers, Medium Diced
1-1/2 cups Onions, Medium Diced
2 qts Water, Hot
1/4 cup and 2Tbsps Custom Culinary® Gold Label Crab Base
1 14-1/2 oz can Tomatoes, Canned, Diced in Sauce
2-1/2 cups Potatoes, Medium Diced
1-1/2 cups Crab Meat, Canned, Lump
1/4 tsp. Mace, Ground
1/8 tsp. Black Pepper, Ground

  1. In a 2 gallon stock pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add green peppers, leeks, red peppers and onions, mixing well. Sauté 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently.
  2. Add water, Custom Culinary® Gold Label Crab Base, tomatoes, potatoes, crab meat, mace and black pepper, mixing well. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat and gently boil until potatoes are tender, approximately 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Note: Stir gently with a spoon to avoid breaking up crab meat.
