Linguini with Clam Sauce

Amount Ingredients
1 Tbsp. Olive Oil
1/2 tsp. Garlic, Minced
12 ea. Manilla Clams, Fresh in Shell
1/4 cup Dry White Wine
2 cups Water, Hot
1-1/2 tsp. Custom Culinary® Gold Label Clam Base
1/2 tsp. Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
8 oz. Linguini, Fresh, Cooked, Hot

  1. In a medium sauté pan over medium high heat, warm olive oil.
  2. Add garlic and clams. Cook 10-12 seconds.
  3. Add white wine. Cook 10-15 seconds and bring to a boil.
  4. In a separate 1-quart container, blend hot water and  Clam Base until fully diluted.
  5. Add prepared clam broth and crushed red pepper flakes to the pan. Clams should all open shortly (discard any clams that do not open). As soon as they open, add hot prepared linguine, quickly toss all together.
  6. Place mixture into a 14-16 oz. pasta bowl and serve immediately. Serve with warm crusty Italian or French bread.
