Tomatillo Serrano Shredded Beef Burrito

Tender shredded beef wrapped in a warm flour tortilla with pinto beans, melty cheese, crema, and fresh toppings— finished with zesty True Foundations® Tomatillo Serrano Sauce for a tangy kick.

1 ea 12” flour tortilla (warmed)
½ cup shredded seasoned beef (see prep below)
¼ cup warm pinto beans (whole or refried)
¼ cup shredded cheese blend (cheddar/jack or queso blend)
2 Tbsp Custom Culinary® True Foundations® Tomatillo Serrano Sauce (plus more for drizzling)
2 Tbsp Mexican crema or sour cream
2 Tbsp diced tomato
2 Tbsp diced white onion (or grilled onions for a twist)
1 Tbsp chopped cilantro (optional)
  Optional: avocado or guacamole (1 oz), jalapeño slices for heat
  Shredded Beef (Batch Prep Option):
2 lbs cooked shredded beef chuck or brisket
1 cup Custom Culinary® True Foundations® Tomatillo Serrano Sauce
  Optional: 1 tsp cumin or garlic for seasoning depth

 
PREPARATION

Simmer beef with sauce in a steam table pan until hot and saucy. Hold warm for service.

Warm the tortilla on a flat top or steamer to make it pliable.

Layer the ingredients in the center of the tortilla:
  • Spread pinto beans as the base
  • Garnish with cilantro (if using)
  • Add diced tomatoes, onions, and optional jalapeños or avocado
  • Spoon crema and True Foundations® Tomatillo Serrano Sauce on top
  • Sprinkle cheese over hot ingredients to melt
  • Add shredded beef
Roll tightly into a burrito (fold in sides, then roll forward), toast the seam-side down if desired for a crispy finish.

Serve as-is or with a side of extra Tomatillo Serrano Sauce for dipping or smothering
