Korean-style BBQ Tempeh Wrap

Elevating the classic wrap with unique flavors and plant-forward ingredients. Featuring Featuring Custom Culinary® Korean-Style Barbecue Sauce and Kimchi Prep, Korean-style BBQ Tempeh Wrap consists of Tempeh, steamed rice, kimchi vegetables and scallions rolled in a spinach tortilla.

What You'll Need

2 Tbsp vegetable oil
16 oz tempeh, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
1 ea red bell pepper, sliced into strips
1 ea red onion, sliced into strips
2 ea scallions, chopped
1-2 tsp sesame seeds
4 oz vegan kimchi (Custom Culinary® Kimchi Prep mixed with your choice of vegetables)
4 ea flour tortillas, large
4 ea lettuce leaves, large, or a few handfuls of sprouts
1 ea avocado,  sliced
4 oz Custom Culinary® Korean-Style BBQ Sauce

  1. Coat the bottom of a large skillet with oil and place over medium heat.
  2. Add tempeh and cook about 5 minutes, until pieces are browned on bottoms.
  3. Flip and cook 5 minutes more.
  4. Raise heat to high and add bell pepper and onion.
  5. Stir-fry for about 2 minutes. Lower heat to medium again and pour sauce into skillet.
  6. Cook just until sauce is very thick and coats tempeh and veggies.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in scallions and sesame seeds.
  1. Place a tortilla onto a work surface.
  2. Arrange a lettuce leaf or handful of sprouts on top.
  3. Top with avocado slices, kimchi if using, and then tempeh mixture.
  4. Fold the end of the tortilla closest to you over fillings, then wrap the sides inward.
  5. Roll the wrap away from you to enclose fillings.
  6. Repeat until all tortillas and fillings are used.
