Vegetarian Rice Pilaf

Amount Ingredients
1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
1 lb. Onions, Medium Diced
1 lb. Carrots, Medium Diced
8 oz. Celery, Medium Diced
3 qts. Rice, Long Grain Converted
1-1/2 gal. Water, Hot
1/2 cup Custom Culinary® Gold Label Mirepoix Base
PREPARATION

  1. In a large sauté or braising pan over medium high heat, sauté onions, carrots and celery in oil 5-7 minutes until onions are translucent, stirring frequently.
  2. Add water, rice and Gold Label Mirepoix Base. Heat to boiling. Cover and bake at 375º F for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
