‘Tis The Season For Gravy (With 6 Favorite Recipes!)

Tags:  Comfort Food  |  Gravies  |  Seasonal

Every single year we wonder, what would we serve to all the guests that need a break from turkey? Or maybe those who opt for a meatless Thanksgiving instead? There are loads of options, of course, but we tend to find ourselves coming back to the famous bird every year. But here’s the thing: gravy isn’t tied to any certain protein or holiday, for that matter. Regardless of your protein of choice, we’ve got you covered with all the best gravies you can imagine. We even dug through our recipe database to bring you our go-to favorites.

Mushroom Gravy Sauce

Whether you make the same gravy year after year or experiment and try something new, we’d like to highlight six options worthy of repeating along with a few twists on the familiar. Let’s say you’ve found yourself with a cup or two of the drippings from your gloriously roasted turkey. That would put you on your way to our Homestyle Turkey Gravy. Add some celery, onion, sage, rosemary, garlic, flour, our Custom Culinary® Gold Label Turkey Base, and call it a day. But if a Creamy Turkey Gravy is more your style, here’s one we love. Two ingredients will yield 76 ounces of flavorful gravy for your crowd, but you can bump up to yield all that you need. You could use our Gold Label Turkey Base or sub in PanRoast® Turkey Flavored Gravy Mix. Both delightful.

Roasted Garlic Turkey Gravy is always a fan favorite and is your entry into so many variations. Once you’ve prepared the Custom Culinary® Master’s Touch® Turkey Gravy Concentrate, swirl in Custom Culinary® Master’s Touch® Roasted Garlic Flavor Concentrate and take in the compliments. The same results will occur with this Mushroom Turkey Gravy, of course. Starting with the same Turkey Gravy Concentrate, we added Custom Culinary® Gold Label Mushroom Base, but where you go is really your choice. Swapping in one of our most popular products, Custom Culinary® Gold Label Latin-Style Citrus Chili Sauce, will lead you to a Latin Citrus Chili Turkey Gravy. All will be just as easy, just as delicious. One more twist: try it with apples. For an Apple Turkey Gravy, we start with Apple Cider, whisk in Turkey Gravy Concentrate, and finish with diced, peeled apples. We especially like this version with a smoked turkey breast, but with other game birds, too.

For all things gravy, we’ve got the options. Click here to download our NEW Custom Culinary® Gravies Brochure or check out our Custom Culinary® Easy Add-In Menu Guide for over 50 easy recipes for gravy.
